A drawing → a poster → a book

Possibly my biggest highlight of 2024 happened in November—but it’s been unknowingly brewing for 3 decades!

My tribute poster for Anatomy of a Fall using that drawing. It felt right to include those foldings of the paper..

About 30 years ago, I made a drawing. I can’t really remember what it was about, or what inspired it. Fast forward to 2023, Anatomy of a Fall is released—a film that goes on to win the Palme d’Or and numerous other awards. Seeing how eerily suitable my old drawing felt, I turned it into a tribute poster for the movie and it got quite a lot of love on social media.

Usually this is where my tribute poster stories end, but in November 2024, the Oscar-winning screenplay got published as a book by Gallimard! Its cover and preface were done by none other than the legendary David Lynch and to my surprise, the filmmakers chose to include my poster in the book!

I’m still waiting to hold my own copy of it, but this is one of those surreal series of events only made possible by the Internet and a few wild coincidences!
